School Programs

Ms. Yvette, who is our dental assistant, provides an amazing service to many of the local schools and daycare centers. She visit these schools, mostly in the month of February (Children’s Dental Health Month), to teach kids about oral hygiene and to promote good dental health. Her presentations are lively and exciting to the kids and end with a rewarding treat of dental goodies like toothbrush, toothpaste and floss as well as fun activities such as puzzles and coloring pages for the kids. If you are a teacher or a school nurse or a parent that would like this program introduced in your school, please give us a call and we will schedule your school. It is absolutely free as we do it as a service to all school professionals who believe in overall wellbeing of their students. Here is a peak into Ms. Yvette’s lesson.

Our cheerful and smiley Ms. Yvette will come to the school armed with a movie about Gina the Giraffe and lots of other fun toys. She starts her performance by showing the kids a movie about first dental visit and why it is such a fun and not frightening experience. She then shows kids how to brush and floss using her big tooth puppet as well as kids themselves as teeth. She will floss with a jump rope between the kids and brush them with a large brush. She also discusses healthy foods and helps the kids sort them in the two groups in an interactive game. Yvette involves the kids in all sorts of fun games that make the idea of the dentist and oral hygiene easy and smooth as well as informative on their level. She then rewards them for listening so well and helping her out with their very own goodie bag that will educate parents as well on the things the kids have just learned. Hope you’ll enjoy the photos from her performances!
