Practice Information:
Our office was recently redesigned to accommodate for the needs of today’s children. Our sky-themed waiting room and reception area welcome kids of all ages with toys, books and a corner to sit and do school work while waiting for the appointment.
Our treatment rooms have a play area with stuffed animals, books, toys and TVs displaying G-rated movies and cartoons. Kids can play or watch movies before and after their appointment while parents talk to the staff and to the dentist.
We have recently updated our dental equipment to state of the art dental chairs that allow kids to comfortably sit through the entire appointment. We have also aquired digital radiography to decrease radiation, be able to clearly diagnose dental pathology and to be more environmentally friendly. We also have intraoral cameras that help us explain to parents intraoral pathology with clear visual imaging.
Our interactive parent consultation area is where we use brochures, x-rays, computers, and presentations to educate parents about their children’s oral needs such as dental hygiene and treatment needed. Parents can ask questions in full confidence while watching their children play and enjoy themselves.
Our philosophy is that parents are an integral part of the dental treatment of children. They are the most trusted and loved people in their children’s lives and we respect this relationship. However, we ask that you allow your child to accompany our staff through the dental experience alone. Everyone in our office is highly experienced in helping children overcome anxiety. Studies and our experience have shown that most children over the age of 3 react more positively when permitted to experience the dental visit on their own and in an environment designed for children.
We involve parents in exams, clinical decisions and answer all questions chairside with parents and patients. Parents of all new patients will be invited to the back for the examiniation and discussion of concerns. During subsequent appointments, parents can always come back with any specific questions, but do keep in mind, that children do better on their own. Dr. Lindhorst gladly welcomes parental involvement and is happy to have whole families enjoy our office.
