Community Programs

Smiles For Kids loves doing educational programs for our community. In addition to programs we do for the neighborhood schools we also provide lessons to parents through various organizations. We mostly work through parents’ groups and if you are a member of such a group and would like for us to provide this wonderful service to you, please contact us and we will schedule a date with you.

Our information sessions for parents usually involve a get-together of 10-20 parents with kids if they desire to do so, in our office or in a community center. We usually bring healthy snacks and drinks with us and spend 15 minutes educating parents through a slide show on proper oral hygiene instructions, healthy diet, dental cavity development and habit management such as thumb or pacifier sucking. Dr. Lindhorst then spends time answering any questions parents might have and sharing her experience. Meantime our assistants are available to play with the kids and can entertain them as much as moms and dads would like. We love having these meetings in our office where we can then take the kids and parents on a tour of our facilities. We believe that having first dental visit in such a non stressful and friendly environment makes the little ones much more comfortable in having an actual dental visit later. However, we have also done these meetings in community centers, during play dates or at facilities such as Gymboree.

Call us for more details if you would like to schedule something for your group!
